Mariposa Grove Cabin Sticker

Galen Clark was the first "Guardian" of Yosemite after the Yosemite Grant was signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1864.

Clark taught lawmakers the importance of protecting the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias as well as Yosemite Valley for future generations. He built one of his cabins in the Mariposa Grove in 1864 to use as an office and Visitor Center.

You can see this restored cabin on the way to Wawona Point on the Mariposa Grove Trail. His impact was so influential that an iconic peak, Mt. Clark was named after him.
