This fantastic basket was made during the 1920's by the Maidu tribe of northern California. It is made with peeled and split maple sewed with redbud on a willow stick foundation. The geometric pattern is very different on the bottom, giving thought to the idea that one person started this basket and another finished it. Measures 8 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall.
